“ You have to love dancing to stick to it. It gives you nothing back, no manuscripts to store away, no paintings to show on walls and maybe hang in museums, no poems to be printed and sold, nothing but that single fleeting moment when you feel alive. It is not for unsteady souls. ”

I have no words for this, simply beautiful.

Choreographed by Pina Bausch

Music: “Lillies of the Valley” - Jun Miyake

from the movie Pina by Wim Wenders

“100 years of East London style in 100 seconds. Sept 13th 1911 - Sept 13th 2011.”

I love this video. A combination of three things I love: fashion, dance, and history! (yes I do love history, with a few exceptions of course). One part I love is the reference to the WW2, where the guy salutes then walks out of the frame, leaving the girl dancing by herself. I also love the clever way they choreograph the dance moves to complement the style of each era. From the Edwardian blouses to 20’s flapper dresses to the pumped up sneakers of the 80’s!

Watch and take a walk down memory lane! Or rather fashion history lane, maybe.
